The Government's recent announcement regarding the elimination of "Golden Visas" (residency visas for real estate investment exceeding 500,000 euros) has generated uncertainty among international investors who see Ibiza as a safe haven market.
What happens to visas already granted?
The new regulations establish a transitional regime. Investors who have already obtained their residence permit will be able to maintain and renew it, provided the investment is maintained under the original terms.
Alternatives for non-EU investors
The elimination of this route does not close the door to foreign investment. There are other legal figures such as the digital nomad visa, business investment or non-lucrative residencies, which allow legal establishment in Spain.
